How to disable credit card requirement for my developer?

I have created an organization and sent invide to my developer.

He is required to add credit card and this is not acceptable.

How to disable check for credit card?

Hi,

Not sure. Someone would need to add a credit card to prevent abuse and prove you are human:

The easiest solution might be for you to provide the required information and then your colleagues won’t be prompted for it when they sign in.

Do you know if this requirement is per-organization, or per-user? In other words, if I or my client have a Fly.io account + organization with a credit card on it, can we invite a developer/other staff member who does not have a credit card set up?

I have a client to whom basic team management is important. Though they don’t have any advanced needs in that regard, this would be a point of friction for onboarding them to Fly if everyone is required to add cards.

@miend I’m afraid I don’t. I’d guess it would be per-organization but it is a guess.

@greg I was able to join as another user without adding a credit card to it – I invited another email address I own, signed up with it, and was immediately able to mess around in the org. The org already had a credit card via my primary account.

Is this the case with your org too @maksim-lapshin? Do you already have a card linked before inviting another user?

I have put credit card on my account, on my organization account.

But Fly.io does not allow my developers to do anything on behalf of my organisation unless they put their own credit cards.

This is a blocker. It is impossible to work with fly.io with this requirement, because no normal man will risk with his private credit card for a working needs.

Is it a bug or it is a strange specific idea of fly.io team. In second case, I will just shutdown my account and will never return to fly.io

@miend: this is not how it worked for me. My invited colleague was forced to put a credit card.

Referencing an earlier topic I found, is the dev in question getting an error like this?

Confirm your payment method to keep using our platform. We think you are a human but our system does not. Click here to confirm your payment method to unlock your account.

In that case, it may want one as a safeguard against abuse. Although if all plans are paid now (closing the door to abuse of free tier) and they only have access to create resources through your org that does have a payment method attached, I’m not sure if that makes sense. Have you tried contacting billing@fly.io directly about getting your org members’ accounts unlocked?

no, I haven’t

I’ve seen that email support is available only after switching to other payment plans, but I need first to develop something before going deeper with fly.io and I cannot do it, because I cannot add developers.

Will try to contact them, thanks.

Billing support is available to everyone via billing@fly.io, like mentioned. The email support you’re referring to is only technical support, which does require a paid plan.

@maksim-lapshin it also might be that your developer’s personal account was flagged by FLY’s antifraud system for some reason, and that is why it shows him/her this banner on every page including your org’s page.

How to check: does your dev see this banner on his/her personal org page? If yes, then it probably has nothing to do with your org

Ok, let me check if he can still create something in my org, while having this banner on his personal page.
