Hello, I am trying to confirm if I can use Fly.io for hosting some of our adult websites. These websites do have adult content but comply 100% with the laws. So nothing illegal or any child porn or anything like that. But I need to first confirm before we switch to Fly. So please let me know
Their terms forbid it, so I guess not:
You agree that you will not upload, record, publish, post, link to, transmit or distribute User Content, or otherwise utilize the Services in a manner that:
…
(iv) promotes, solicits or comprises inappropriate, harassing, abusive, profane, hateful, defamatory, libelous, threatening, obscene, indecent, vulgar, pornographic or otherwise objectionable or unlawful content or activity;
Tbh, I don’t remember this clause so seems like a recent addition to me.
In any case, wait for execs at Fly to confirm one way or the other.
Thank you. I saw that too but still wanted to confirm with them. Most of their competitors do allow it - but states clearly no child pornography or anything illegal.
So maybe the execs want to look into rewording their clause? I know many adult site builders would appreciate it.
Btw, you can also reach them at support at fly dot io
, as that’s more conducive to case-by-case support (for things like alt terms of service, say) than this very public forum.
I did but they told me to ask here. Well I am not getting any response from the team. I guess once they see “Adult” everyone got scared lol
That was an auto response.
Our ToS forbids adult content. That may change in a few months. We aren’t ready to deal with the problems adult content creates yet.
@kurt Damn I was really hoping I could use you guys for hosting our sites. Thanks for the response anyhow.
We will have to look into other providers.
4/a still prohibits this.
