I would like to consult. Upstash Redis changed their payment plans (from 0$ to 10$ per month) without any notification to Fly.io customers (i.e. neither though email/ not though fly.io). As a result, I have to pay for it (even if I don’t plan to use it with this new condition).
Is it a violation of the terms of service? i.e. when the price of a service is changed without notifying the user?
Yeah - we also noticed that we had a line item on our invoice for October for Redis when this has not been part of past invoices before. Something definitely changed in the billing, and I can’t seem to find any documentation of what it was, or any notice that it was changing.
For us, it looked like it happened starting on 10/14, when daily usage when from $0, to $0.32 per day ($10 / 31 days in Oct is $0.32 prorated per day). On 11/1, it moves to $0.33 ($10 / 30 days in November). I don’t see any communication about this.
