I’m using NextDNS for adblocking and have noticed that tigris.dev is being blocked by filter rules from both hBlock (since February 12, 2025, 7:26:25 PM JST) and EasyList (since February 14, 2025, 11:17:48 AM JST).
I understand that tigris.dev has sometimes unintentionally hosted malicious content in the past, often uploaded by malicious actors. However, it appears that these filter rules are generated by scripts referencing upstream security databases—likely those tracking phishing or malware URLs. If these underlying sources aren’t updated to reflect tigris.dev’s current use and reputation as an object storage platform, simply requesting the removal of the filter rule might not be a long-term solution.
Since I’m not familiar with how these upstream sources (such as a malicious URL database) are maintained, I suggest that you consider reporting this issue to the maintainers of the adblock lists—or any malicious URL databases they reference (if such exist). Addressing the root source of the misclassification may help prevent recurring overblocking and ensure that legitimate services aren’t adversely affected.
@keiya Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Unfortunately, this happened due to a few malicious users hosting malicious content, leading some threat providers to flag us. We’ve already reached out to the relevant providers to ensure the issue is addressed so that we are not marked. Rest assured, we’re also working on a solution to prevent malicious actors from uploading harmful content, thus avoiding the unintentional hosting of such material. We truly appreciate your patience as we work through this.
@keiya@pulleasy Thanks for bringing this to our attention! We were able to get tigris.dev removed from the adblock lists, but we understand the importance of addressing the root cause to prevent future issues. We’re actively working on strengthening our protections and ensuring that tigris.dev is recognized as a legitimate platform.
If you come across any other filters or databases still blocking us, please let us know. Your input helps us stay ahead of this. Thanks for your patience and support!
We have several enterprise customers who are still affected by this - we use Tigris to store patent images, and our customers have been reporting that their images are not loading for several days. One such report:
