Email subject: TLS certificate renewal was unsuccessful
I received an email from Fly.io saying they tried to provision a certificate for me but receive an error message:
“An IPv6 address pointed at us is required.”
This is something that has been working for months now so not sure why I need a renewal.
I did some looking around and seeing messages about removing and re-adding a certificate (which did not work for me), and disable Cloudflare proxying (which did not work for me).
Also, do I need to be worried if I see an error on my certificate screen:
" Error when resolving hostname `_acme-challenge…"
I admit I’m not the most familiar with this stuff so I need some help.
I received the email May 26th. But there is definitely something wrong with my app. It’s not accessible as it was before. So, it seems like a legit email for me anyways.
Small side note: I’ve moved my earlier mention of all the false-alarm messages on May 26 down here, since your retroactive edit unintentionally broke the logical flow of the thread…
I was able to renew my certificate by following steps outlined on this page. It worked for me! Specifically, steps 3-7 since I already had an existing app.
