App loses the ability to connect to Postgres in SYD region

Hey team, I have an application (Rust, Actix) running in the SYD region with a Postgres database in the same region. After my app has made a small number of queries to the Postgres database it loses the ability to connect to the Postgres database at all, with all future attempts timing out. It never recovers. If I restart the app instance it will connect again for a small number of queries.

I cannot replicate the issue locally. The issue started happening around the same time as this issue here: Service Interruption: Can't Destroy Machine, Deploy, or Restart - #22 by finntechnz

Any help or info here?
