Currently I’m using Safari on macOS (Version 16.5) and the new SVG-based background introduced recently works pretty badly. It slows down the entire browser and you should be able to see that the blur doesn’t work very well by conflicting with the grid system or something. Unless you remove it or switch to a better implementation, the experience with Safari is pretty bad.
