Reservation Blocks are now self-service

A little over a month ago we announced Reservation blocks so you can commit to a year of Machine usage on Fly.io for monthly discounts.

I’m excited to announce you no longer have to email reservations@fly.io to set these up. You can now set up a reservation whenever the desire strikes you without emailing us (though we do love chatting with you) by logging into the dashboard.

but how

To setup some reservations navigate to “Billing” on your organization’s Fly.io dashboard and you’ll find the form on the right-hand side:

Select the Shared or Performance machines, the region, and the dollar amount you want to commit to, then checkout. A confirmation dialog will open so you can review the details before you buy.

It’s worth noting there’s a bit of a delay to get charged, so don’t be surprised if you don’t see that on your card activity immediately. We’re working with our Billing provider to reduce the delay on that.

The commitment details that @jfent wrote on the original announcement remain the same. Refer to that description for more info.

Hey @jphenow

I got the reservations form on my personal org, but not on the app org. Am I missing something?

You need to be an admin of the org to be able to buy reservations - is it possible that you’re just a “member” of the app org you mentioned?

edit: Oh you also need to have a card associated with the org (or enough credits).

hey @jfent

I’m the admin of the org, and it has a card associated. If you look on my screenshot you see that it’s on Launch plan and has paid invoices.

Update: it appeared on the billing page after a few days, thanks
