Clarification on Fly.io's Free Tier and Billing Policy

  1. I understand that Fly.io is free for usage under $5. Can you confirm if this is correct?
  2. If my usage exceeds $5, will the first $5 be deducted from my total bill, or will I be charged the full amount exceeding the free tier?

There’s no real free tier anymore. We currently waive small (less than $5 invoices). We do that because a surprising number of tiny invoices are accidental usage and $5 is a good threshold where we’d rather eat the cost than create nasty surprises.

If an invoice is $5 or more, we charge the full amount.
