The OOM killer notifications are great, but without a Machine ID it’s difficult to track down the source of the problem. If an app has multiple machines, especially if it has multiple process groups, it becomes tricky to identify the cause of the OOM event.

That’s a fair point and a great idea. I added that to our new OOM emails, and it should take effect within a few hours.
