Good question.
As I recall the private network uses IPv6. The app-name.internal style domains resolve to an IPv6. If not (not sure) is there a need for an IPv4 for purely internal use? Most languages should be able to resolve an IPv6, even if they don’t default to doing that (like you may get an error from Nodejs and have to specify it to use IPv6).
