Earlier we posted about how you could view deleted clusters and their associated backups.
This is a quick announcement to say this is no longer just a read-only view - you can “restore” from these backups now.
We are planning on a more comprehensive workflow around deleting clusters (ensuring a final backup is taken prior to deletion etc.) but for now - as long as you are careful to manually take a backup prior to deleting a cluster (or you are happy with an existing recent backup) you should be able to quickly and easily restore any recently deleted cluster.
This is currently a manual process along the lines of -
- confirm you have an up to date backup
- delete the cluster
- restore the cluster from the previous backup
Note this restores into a new cluster. This is consistent with the existing restore functionality for backups of active clusters.
