I last used this Discourse roughly six months ago, and when I signed in today I was redirected to a page asking me to choose a username. I chose my usual username (@indirect), and was forwarded on to Discourse and logged in. I’m not sure what happened, but my username here seems to be @andre1, and I… can’t change it? Am I just missing where the button to edit your username is?
Can you try logging out and in again? It should pick up the username this time.

There was a bug, you totally did the right thing.
