Hi, I’ve experienced massive speed downgrade at fly.io today.
I’m not really sure what happened. It was working fine for a few months, I had only 1 machine in the Singapore. Since today it’s become increasingly slow.
shared-1x-cpu@1024MB
I have added 5 more machines in different regions but it didn’t help.
I switched back to 1 machine and switched the region, it didn’t help either.
I don’t have a lot of knowledge about servers and stuff. Is there anything I’m missing or are there problems on the fly.io side?
What database are you connecting to? Is it local (like SQLite) or remote (e.g. Supabase)? Does your app have any endpoints that don’t do db operations, so you can just check network performance?
Aside: I’m only a customer here, but I’d say that Fly is a bit of a software engineer’s playground. I wouldn’t recommend it for a client unless they had software people on their staff, since it’s not reasonable to expect biz/consumer peeps to find their way around container technology.
