Starting February 2026, we’ll begin charging for inter-region private network usage for Managed Postgres. You’ll see the first charges on your invoice issued at the start of March 2026.
This usage will be billed at the same rate as our existing private network usage and will share the same free quota. You will not be charged for network usage within the same region.
Preview your usage
To help you prepare for this change, you’ll start seeing an additional zero-price line item for Managed Postgres inter-region private network usage on your invoices starting December 2025.
We began collecting this usage data on December 3, 2025, so the preview for December will be incomplete. The goal is to give you as much visibility as possible ahead of billing so there are no surprises when charges begin in February.

How do I reduce my usage?
Usage in the same region as your MPG cluster won’t incur costs. Its recommended to have majority of your app machines in the same region as your MPG cluster.
Why?
Inter-region private network traffic cost us money, so we need to charge for it to make them sustainable.
