We recently shipped a simple app dashboard improvement that will give you hints on how to fork databases and volumes.

Did you even know you can fork volumes?

The “Fork this database” modal shows the command fly postgres create --fork-from APP_NAME and hints that you can choose the volume by going to the volume page

The “Fork volume” modal shows fly volumes fork vol_id -a APP_NAME and if it’s a PG database shows fly postgres create --fork-from APP_NAME:vol_id
