tl;dr: feel free to update now or ignore until later (or forever).
Some of of you might have just received an email saying:
You’re receiving this email because the GitHub App Fly.io, which is currently installed on your NAME OF YOUR GH ORG organization, has updated its permissions and is requesting additional access.
That means you used our UI launch or our Org wide SSO features! Thanks for that.
Why?
I’m here to explain the new permissions. We are building new features as you could see on Fresh Produce and launch-ui that are making our UI more powerful and our connection between Fly Apps and Github Repos stronger. For some of those UI changes we needed new permissions:
- PRs: post-launch we will ask you to add fly.toml (and related files such as .dockerignore) in your repo and if you allow we will create a PR for you.
- Checks, Webhooks, Deployments, Environments and Contents: (spoiler) CI/CD and PR Previews!
What do I need to do?
You can use this email to allow the new permissions and you can even choose which repos you want to allow them for OR feel free to ignore these for now and only allow in the future if you want!
