I want to create a sprite that will have security support for more than a week. When will Sprites support 26.04 LTS? That should finally give us years of potential lifetime.
Note that in the past, it took months to catch up. See this March 6 post which references earlier ones, but finally got resolved via release 25.10, but that too was short-term: Ubuntu 25.04 has been unsupported for over a month. How will sprites get security and feature upgrades?

Our migration plans are a bit up in the air while we continue work on the improved storage stack. We haven’t decided if we’re sticking with LTS in the future or continuing the biannual releases. Updates within the same release are now mostly automated, and we’ll be shipping minor updates more frequently.
Glad to hear it. Please keep us up-to-date, and respond to this within the next 10 days so the topic doesn’t auto-close and we don’t have to chase around the site for clarity.

But this raises a new “bug” - all the Sprites documentation still refers to an older Ubuntu version (25.10):
