My sprite keeps crashing/dying, I think due to excessive memory use. But this was happening on as little as just running 3 agent sessions (in herdr), sometimes more. It’s died on me probably 5 times in the last 16 hours, and restarting from the fly.io dashboard errors a lot too even when cold (although just succeeded).
It’s near impossible to run my agentic work on it. Is there anything I can do?
FYI currently it’s up and running again, and although it’s less than a week old I just upgraded it too from inside console. Still keen to get any insights on it though, thanks!
You can request a memory limit increase if you like. I think it is 8GB by default, and it can be increased to 16GB. That may make them more expensive to run, if your processes are hungry, but it may also reduce crashing behaviour.
It looks like it’s been automatically scaling up to 16GB? I could be wrong, but either way it’s been crashing another 3-4 times since my first message and it’s been crashing on as little as two or three agents doing pretty small trivial tasks, nothing too heavy AFAIK.
Hmm, interesting. Are there any logs being recorded that might help you determine the crash reason? I expect Fly will want to know if there’s anything in their image that is causing the crash, but they can’t stop the customer letting off their own fork-bombs, of course
