Improving the remote builder experience

Hey everyone,
We’ve been working behind the scenes on some remote builder improvements behind the scenes, namely:

  • Heartbeats have longer timeouts
  • flyctl will retry the initial heartbeat (which is important) a few times before failing
  • We can now verify and create the remote builder with less API calls then before

More improvements are coming! We’re working hard behind the scenes to make sure that deployments and launches are always succcessful!

Thanks Billy, I’ve had to switch to an external build tool the past few months since I would experience build failures when trying to build multiple images concurrently. Excited to use the Fly builders again when they are more stable.
