I just created a Fly io account now they ask for a credit card
I understand is for verification purpose but i wanted to know can i delete my credit card after the verification is done or should i keep it to keep my website active.
Hi… Generally, you need to keep it on file, since verification/anti-fraud is a continuous process, in their view. (They will test it periodically, if I remember correctly.)
As an alternative, you can use the prepaid credits, although those have disadvantages of their own. (E.g., a minimum up-front purchase—and no $5 waiver.)

So basically i’m obliged to keep my card on my account.
Can i be charge even if i didn’t take a pay plan ?

You can be charged. Right now, there isn’t a way to use Fly.io completely for free.
The best approach is to use features like auto-stop to minimize your costs, but expect to pay that (small) amount at the end of each month.
At the moment, Fly.io has a policy, for other reasons, of waiving invoices that turn out to be less than $5, but that isn’t intended to serve as a free tier—and you shouldn’t rely on it continuing in the future.
(Personally, I expect that to end sometime in 2026, but that’s just my guess as an outside observer…)
