Flaky Dashboard App count and Machine start/stop

This didn’t quite feel like a support ticket, and because I’m not using one of the major browsers I figured I’d check with the forum first:

My org’s dashboard shows the wrong count for machines on some apps. The production app shows ‘8’ when it only has 3. 8 was the maximum we had, but that was at least a few days ago and we’ve rescaled the number of machines a few times since between 5 and 3 and it’s stuck showing 8. This is the case for several of our apps. One of them has shown an incorrect number for over a month. We’re pretty sure we’re being billed correctly, but the display is not helpful if it’s always wrong.

Also, if we have the list of machines of an app for a while, then the start/stop buttons do not work. When this happens we refresh the page the buttons work fine, it’s just if that page has been open for more than few minutes. They throw an error saying that the command was invalid, or the like. (Now I wish I had taken a screenshot.) It’s gotten me a few times when I’m going fast: I’ll want to stop all machines to reset the database, so I’ll click ‘stop stop stop’ and I see the toast at the bottom of the page, but I don’t realize it’s telling me an error instead of ‘Stopping machine 90m4uh85’… then I cycle the database and a ton of errors are thrown by the app because the machines aren’t stopped.

Have others run into either of these issues?

:waving_hand: Hello! I found the issue with some apps’ Machine counts in that list. The count included Machines that have been destroyed but marked in our backend as failed. We’re excluding Machines in the failed state now, so counts should match what you expect.

I can reproduce the second bug in my decidedly normie browser so hopefully it won’t be too tricky to fix in the near future. For now, refreshing the page sounds like the right workaround - thanks for sharing that, and for reporting these bugs!
