I’m trying to release a dedicated IPv4 from my app without success.
Both CLI (`fly ips release xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx`) and the web UI acknowledge releasing the ip saying “Released xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx from my-app” but the ip is still there.

what app are you having this issue with? email me at [email redacted] if you don’t want to post it publicly.
okay, I found the bug, I’m not immediately sure how to fix it but I’ll see what I can do.
fix is deploying
@linobino1 this should be fixed now, could you check if it’s working for you?
@lillian thanks!
I tried the web UI first, and there I got an error “Unexpected status code releasing IP address: 404”.
Then I tried CLI, it seemed to work and `fly ips list` doesn’t show it anymore. The web UI still does though.
whoops, I’ve got a fix for the dashboard deploying now as well.
The ip is not showing anymore in the UI, thanks! Obviously, I cannot test anymore if it can be released via UI.
I have an application with a dedicated IPv4 address that I no longer need as I changed the application. I’ve been hesitant to remove the address concerned that it might impact existing users until the DNS changes propagate. Am I being overcautious?
if you mean the .fly.dev domain DNS:
IP address deletion is propagated to our nameservers globally within a few seconds, and then the TTL on the record is 300 seconds (5 minutes), so that’s the longest a client could attempt to use the removed IP.

I generally would recommend users with such concerns to use a custom domain instead of the default .fly.dev.
