CPU steal

displeased by the degree of CPU steal going on on my machine. I just redeployed a clone of my machine and I guess it landed on the same host bc it’s got exactly the same issue.

Why am I paying for 8 vCPUs if less than one of them is actually available? What can I do to actually get the performance that I’m paying for?

Hi @tylergannon,

What CPU kind do your machines have? shared or performance?

You can read about details of the CPU quotas and bursting that applies to shared machines here: CPU Performance · Fly Docs

Last night I replaced my 8x shared CPU with a 6x performance one. It’s JUST AS BAD.
I’m Extremely close to moving my business elsewhere, at this point. This is extremely disappointing. Note the screenshot below. All of the processes are taking a tiny portion of the CPU and yet all of my CPU’s are showing up as completely pegged.

This is basically unusable. At $180/month it should NOT be unusable.

Why is my performance machine getting throttled???

oh I see what’s going on. I requested a change to performance but for some reason it’s still running on the shared. :frowning:

Machine size updates should take effect immediately. What does your fly.toml look like?

Is it possible that a deploy reverted the change you made? The config in fly.toml takes precedence over manual changes during fly deploy.
