"Cannot be reached" on various browsers

I have been able to deploy my app, I’m able to access the application on my computer, but others on a particular network aren’t able to access it (hospital).

The message on the browser simply states: “Cannot be reached“ and it suggests proxy settings and firewall as the problem.

I’m not really able to manage to adjust the settings on colleagues’ computers, so I was wondering what I can do in my app to allow access to it.

What’s preventing access/sending warning messages to others who are trying to use the application?

This is the first time I’m using Fly.io so any advice would be helpful, thank you.

it’s possible the target network is blocking fly.io for some reason. you can try the following to see if it would help:

  • use a custom domain rather than the default .fly.dev
  • use a dedicated rather than shared IPv4 address (this will cost $2/mo): fly ips allocate-v4 and update your DNS with the new address

It would not be surprising for a hospital to have a very locked-down, very filtered, DNS and internet system. See if your colleagues can access the site on their mobile phones.

Yup, mobile phones work fine/outside computers work fine! It’s specific to the network. I changed to have IPv6 and IPv4 as well. No go. I think I’ll try to add a domain to it. That was the next suggestion I received.
