Hey there, attempting to fly deploy this morning, and the process keeps stalling at “Waiting for depot builder…” in IDA.
When I first ran it, my auth token had expired, I logged in and all seems well there, but subsequent command executions of fly deploy from my app still yield the same timeout. I see there are issues with DFW capacity which should be winding down, but not sure if this is new in IAD or what - any thoughts or suggestions welcome.
FWIW: I can perform other fly cli commands successfully, e.g. fly status returns what I’d expect, but seems to be hung up with deployment.
True to the Observer effect - it has since deployed after several executions.
Just to keep this around, I’ve been seeing this as well. It’s been sitting longer and longer at the “waiting for depot builder” step for me when I run fly deploy in IAD over the last week or so, and today it’s been taking 10-15 minutes to get picked up when it does work. Is this a capacity issue?
I’m seeing the same thing, trying to deploy out of Atlanta. Just hangs, same spot…
Keep at it; that’s what I did and it eventually got a response and my deployment went. Good luck!
Got some useful information in this thread: Unable to deploy: Waiting for depot builder...
Moving the builder to IAD worked for me.
Had no idea you could direct the depot builder regionally - that’s a great thread, thanks for sharing!
