# sprite doesn't boot/come up anymore

One of my sprites pluginbiblio-\*\*\* doesn’t boot anymore or comes up, restarting the machine doesn’t work unfortunately . can’t connect or exec into it. just dead seems like no network or smth else?

👋 I recreated your Sprite’s underlying Machine. The original was indeed stuck and not starting as expected, but the new one booted up okay. I hope to hear things are working better now - sorry for the earlier hiccup!

Thank you! It seems to be working again.

Would you be able to share any additional technical details about what happened? Do you have any insight into what caused the issue or whether there are steps we can take on our end to prevent something similar in the future?

Since this resulted in an outage for our service, we’d appreciate as much information as you can provide to help us understand the root cause and assess any potential risks.

Also, I wanted to clarify whether I might be misunderstanding Sprite’s intended use case. Is it designed primarily for development and testing environments, or is it expected to be suitable for production workloads as well?

I’ve got this same issue, how can I get my sprite to come back up I’ve tried to restart it. thanks

It’s probably best to create a new top-level thread in the #Questions / Help category. Those get inducted directly into Fly Support’s formal ticketing system.

(Questions left at the end of other threads here in the community forum, in contrast, are more prone to getting overlooked, particularly during the summer.)

It also seems to help if you can mention your actual Sprite name, etc.
