Older machine snapshots

Is there any way to request a copy of an older snapshot than 5 days (< 30), to resolve a onetime prod incident?

Yes if you have more than 5 configured, and (AFAIK) no if you don’t.

Hi there! I restored the bot-tribo-redm application. However, I don’t think you’ll be able to recover the data unfortunately. As you observed, the app was deleted on 2026-09-03 23:36:56+0000. The volume itself remains in pending_destroy for up to 24 hours, it’s unrecoverable after 24 hours have passed. Snapshots are only maintained for up to 5 days (daily snapshot, we keep the latest 5 and rotate the oldest one out). So the last snapshot rotated out on 2026-09-09 at the latest. Sorry we coul…

Can you clarify what you mean by “snapshot”? Do you mean a snapshot of machine state? (answer: no). A snapshot of the image you deployed on the machine? (answer: the old image is not deleted, you can try to identify what you had running at the time with fly releases --image -a APP_NAME. An attached volume? (answer: if you didn’t manually set a longer-than-5-day snapshot retention, no, because snapshots are rotated out and deleted entirely after the retention period).
