Is traffic within the Fly private network faster somehow?

This is something I’ve always wondered and never asked.

Does Fly have some optimizations in place for traffic inside their private network?

Is traffic between an app running in say LAX and another running in AMS subject to public internet weather etc?

For example, Cloudflare has this Argo router that can optimize the routing inside their own network.
